In addition to books, music and all the activities that will take place on Avenida Arriaga, the 44th edition of the Funchal Book Fair will also be a time for Baltazar Dias to receive three plays. There are two national productions, Sweet Home Europe under the Eunice Network and Porta com Porta, which brings to actress Sofia Alves and actor João de Carvalho. The regional production will be in charge of Teatro Bolo do Caco, which will present Tears a show based on the text of Jorge Ribeiro de Castro with the same name. Tickets for the plays are on sale at the Theater ticket office.

Sweet Home Europe

Sweet Home Europa is a production of the D. Maria II National Theater, with staging by João Pedro Mamede, text by the Italian playwright Davide Carnevali and translation by Tereza Bento, is held on May 25 and 26 at 9:00 pm in the Teatro Teatro Municipal.
"Where do we come from and where are we going?
The abyss of the relationship between two human beings is the border between countries. In this fable, love is the political act that gauges the economic well-being of the community; each individual, the memory of a people; the capital, the plate on the table.
Sweet Home Europe is a project of Europe in crisis - we feel the tremor of its structure and we are revealed its uniqueness. Davide Carnevali describes the extreme where Europe is, the twilight, perhaps the place from which we can best see where we have come from and where we are going, in a caustic vision of the European dream. "

Rips
Tears is a play staged by Teatro Bolo do Caco with the authorship of Jorge Ribeiro de Castro, who can watch on May 28 at 9:00 pm in the subpalco of Teatro Baltazar Dias (maximum capacity of 70 people).
"As always, a journey through the most intimate and dissonant of the human being, emphasizing a reality in which the Society does not care about moral values, is consumerist and prejudicial.
Two brothers live in the same house, but despite the education they have been equal, there are many differences between the two, whether on an emotional, intellectual or behavioral level.
To further confuse the story, a strange element arises ... "
Jorge Ribeiro de Castro

Door with Door

Finally, Porta com Porta is a comedy written by Lázaro Matheus, directed by Celso Cleto and the interpretation of Sofia Alves and João de Carvalho, who will be on stage on May 30 and 31 at 9:00 pm at the Baltazar Dias Theater.
"Ruth, an independent woman in her 40s, decides to buy a new apartment in a prestigious building. But in the euphoria of getting another step in her independence, something happens that was not planned and that she will not be able to control - Tony, the owner who occupies the apartment next door, Door with Door. In fact, Tony is a long way from being the ideal neighbor to Ruth ... And the problems happen right on the first date. "
