Luso markets

This is the second part of my journey through the markets, only this time I will talk about some national spaces.

This is a text of continuity which seems fair considering that the earlier approached the markets that I like are mostly in Europe. Now it's time to talk about my country planted by the sea. And start with the North, which I highlight a kind of market, that happens in Valenca do Minho, a town near the border with Spain. It is a medieval city with a mix of open commerce and makeshift stalls that sell everything for the home, from blankets, mattresses, linen sheets, gold and rattan trade. The most curious thing is that all this happens within the walls the ancient fortress, just go through the sidewalk and stone door, yes, another door, yes, sell a bit of everything. The contrast between the walled gray rocks and the colors of the fabrics and its people is a profound appeal for a visit. Apart from its architectural beauty, Valenca do Minho is traditionally visited by hordes of Spaniards in search of its appealing traditional commerce.

Reached down to the city of Porto and you find one of the markets most irreverent outdoor the metropolis, as well in the historical center, in Fontaínhas, the so call fair of Vandoma, which arises precisely from the initiative college students, in the seventies, who wanted to sell some of their belongings. There is nothing more genuine than this market for used objects. A warning to the navegation, if you want to sell something you have to get really early to get a small space, or want to buy something like that. Everything disappears in a flash and soon in the cool morning. If you just for a visits take your time, but be prepared to have to search long to park site. It's the most noisy market I know, where you can hear all kinds of swearing in Porto's way and where you can find real bargains, as you know, the junk for some are treasure for others. Prepare to negotiate and potentially being scammed! Well, there it is. Eyes wide open. Not everything that glitters is gold.

The South, in our nation's capital, Lisbon, there is a market that always deserves my nostalgic visit the Ribeira Market, located at Pier of Sodré. Worth the journey if only for the beauty of a building in wrought Portuguese iron and diversity of products ranging from fresh vegetables, fish and side of the aromatic flowers of all colors and shapes.

In Setúbal, one of the markets that simply cannot be missed is the Deliverance. Who lives and toils of the ocean for those who like to be able to enjoy the best the sea has to offer, simply has to visit this area. They also sell other local products, but the fish is king. Another of the curiosities about this building with 138 years of existence is the beauty of their tile murals that depict scenes of everyday Portuguese life.
