From January 2016, Madeira will host the Shortcutz Funchal movement.

The Shortcutz is an international movement of short films and is part of Labz, project SubFilmes Creative Network.

More than a festival, more than a show, the Shortcutz intended as an authentic urban revolution of ideas, projects and people in the field of short films, becoming an inseparable and constant part of the creative, cultural and artistic cities involved.

This initiative started in Lisbon in 2010 and was subsequently expanded to cities like Porto, London, Berlin and Amsterdam.

The year 2016 begins with the arrival of the movement to Funchal, thus joining this select group of cities that are part of this prestigious international platform for promotion and dissemination of short films of cinema.

The events of Shortcutz Funchal will take place on Wednesday the 1st of the month and has already scheduled 12 films + 2 special for the entire year 2016, all with free admission. The organization is in charge of Javier Santos, Paulo Passos, Rodrigo Rodrigues and Rui Dantas and has the support of Barreirinha Bar Cafe, Terminal7 and Semilha Studio.

To issue # 1 were selected five short of national directors:

"Complete Remission"
The short film by Carlos Madeira Melim with script from Frederico Ferreira, tells the story of Michael, a prestigious lawyer from a bank, it does not look the means to achieve the ends. After the fatal disease of women, their life suffers a strong setback, he tries to see it as an opportunity to redeem himself. Physical illness, as a metaphor for social illness, portrayed by encounters and contrasts with Ricardo, an old schoolmate.

"Ode"
"Ode is the materialization of the desire of a painter by his model on a white screen, which ultimately leads to an obsession with painting created." This short, directed by Ana Sofia Sousa, was part of the selection of Queer Lisboa - International Queer Festival.

"Gravity law"
"Law of Gravity" is a humorous essay on some of the usual generic looks made to the Portuguese cinema. It is a film where the characters aware of their inevitable end express and discuss their troubles in the form of more or less commonplace views taken in relation to cinema and some of the alleged claims of this is or should be.
Tiago Rosa-Rosso puts into play two characters in a Portuguese movie and they question its brief existence, their status as "characters," and face the legacy of Portuguese cinema looking to settle accounts with the past.
Recently won the competition Shortcutz Port and Shortcutz Viseu.

"Adolfo"
Adolfo is a 13 year old boy who wants consquistar the world.
His girlfriend and guinea pig - Maria Cabrita - and your pet, a chicken dog with personality - Pilot - are his fellow adventures that end not always good.
Adolfo is a project of animation that uses ace 2D animation techniques, 3D and stop motion, created in RTP Academy.

"Adolf, the boy chicken"
"Adolfo tells the story of a boy who wants to dominate the world with their Machiavellian plans that are created in his secret laboratory. For this, it has the help of your guinea pig and his loyal pet Pilot, a hen which after all is a dog. This is the first Adolfo plan for global dominance. However, the plan has a very different view to a happy ending. "
