Why do cry the uchida matsumura eyes

Written by  Roberto Macedo Alves

Constantino Lopes Palma has a degree in Social and Political Sciences from the Technical University of Lisbon and has edited several technical sociological studies - but since 2005 this author has shared with us novels, short stories and chronicles - the memorable theme and content, and worthy of being reread and shared.

Sometimes, it is not easy to choose a book to highlight in this space and sometimes you think, think and think and turns out that there is a wonderful reference right here beside us. In the case of this text, an author who is not only Portuguese, but resides in Madera: Constantino Lopes Palma. The latest publication of the author includes 24 short texts, stories and chronicles, which mix in an innovative way, refreshing personal memories and moral lessons, the experience of the past faced with the crazy pace with technology changes today. In a light but tasty style the author shares with us short texts, some memories, some confidences - opens the trunk and the memories as if in casual conversation with the reader, sharing some of his most vivid reminiscences from Africa: colors and sounds, and sensations people who remain memorable despite the years ... War memories that intersect with religion, brown with cherry lips, plastic flowers in cemeteries and even the "magic touches" that Photoshop allows digital photos in today - all these little stories intersect, showing that Mark Twain was right when he said that "history does not repeat itself, but it rhymes" - even if these stories have a touch of "magic realism" and a tropical flavor of Africa that has not disappeared despite the temporal and geographical distance.
