The feminist collection of the young designer Micaela Sapinho was featured in the latest ModaLisboa, on the catwalk of the New Blood, for the spring-summer season 2017.
The collection "The Other" was originally inspired according to the fashion designer by Simone de Beauvoir's "According to Sex", which describes the role of women throughout history of "the other." Written 60 years ago, the "Second Sex" remains current, having given birth to feminism, a movement that has undergone a recent change with the development of the media and the selfie generation. With uncensored representations of the female body, vibrant typography and humorous prints and provocative, this collection works as a tribute to this struggle for a more equal future". And with this provocative and colorful "cry" I leave a happy day for all Portuguese women and beyond.
