In the 2018 edition of the Amateur Theater Show (MAT'18), the presentation space of the Amador Theater Groups of Guimarães repeats the revised and expanded format of 2017, with programming by Oficina Theater. All the groups in the county were able to respond to the public call, as usual. They answered 5 projects to be presented in the usual spaces of the groups, by the territory, in the city and in the parishes. The Mostra jury will attend the shows and elect the three best that perform at the Vila Flor Cultural Center (CCVF), to close this theater party.
Between the 13th and 21st of this month, the Amateur Theater Groups participating in MAT'18 present their artistic projects candidates to be among the 3 best shows that will appear on the stage of the Small Auditorium of the CCVF from October 25 to 27, always at 9:30 p.m. This celebration of the theater ends after the presentation of the last show, on the 27th, at 11:30 pm, with the announcement of the awards by the jury, which in this edition is made up of Casimiro Silva, Manuela Paredes, Torcato Ribeiro and the professionals invited by Oficina Nuno Preto Theater and Valdemar Santos.
Thus, from this Saturday, October 13, the Amadores Theater Groups start for a performative marathon that runs through several locations in Guimarães - Ponte, Campelos, Briteiros, Caldas das Taipas, Brito - and culminates with the three best shows in Small Auditorium of Vila Flor Cultural Center.
The path starts on the 13th with ATRAMA to present the play "The Station" in the Ponte Parish Hall. The following night, October 14, it is the turn of the Astronauta Cultural Association to make known their "Habits" at the Recreational and Cultural Center of Campelos. Follow ARCAP Ponte, on the 19th, with "The above say" to perform on stage at the House of the People of Briteiros. The next stop takes the Citânia Theater Group to the Old Baths in Caldas das Taipas to show "The Marches" on the 20th. The last performance takes place in the Creative Venues in Brito with "A Jorna" by the Theater Group of Campelos, on the 21st. All presentations begin at 9:30 p.m.
Held annually, the contest to support the theatrical creation for the amateur theater groups of the county of Guimarães aims to promote the creation, dissemination and development of works of dramaturgy of all times, support the activity of theater groups amateurs of the county of Guimarães and to foment the taste for the fruition and artistic practice in the area of the theater.
