The city was awarded an European environmental award
The municipality of Cascais was awarded the "Climate Star", an award by the European Climate Alliance award. The organization thus award for the work in raising awareness and environmental education in the schools of the county.
The prizes of the sixth edition of "Climate Star" were delivered last week in Vienna, Austria, and Cascais was one of 14 European to receive the award, out of 1,600 competing municipalities cities.
The council took to the contest the "Energy Game" program, a game that has been used in the last two years in schools as an educational tool and awareness of environmental issues that concerns the municipality.
The "Climate Star" is awarded biennially by the Climate Alliance Europe, a network of more than 1,600 municipalities and cities of 24 European countries that aims primarily to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and the fight against climate change
