The shelf Victoria also reflects a landscape?
NC: Yes, in this case an urban landscape of the historical city of Oporto. I always had a great fascination for this area, the shapes of houses, and the colors. I used the same process, I used images of the city, the county of Victoria, a view of the cathedral and took the form of houses and moved to the various forms of the bookcase. I also added the traditional colors of the buildings, the dirty white, the yellow, ocher and red.
Your projects are always inspired by the tissue that surrounds you is it?
NC: In did this idea come from a visual image for a project. I think it worked well because it is something unique and original. I always try to approach a concept or an idea, as well in my work I tempt to develop a structure and have the most appropriate materials, try to convey something. The parts have to be charismatic, because otherwise, people will not fully identify with them and are very standardized and is also a way for me to differentiate from the market of furniture that already exists. Thus I create a connection with people.
What is the feedback you’ve got from people about your pieces?
NC: It's been very positive. Especially many compliments about the tables. They think my projects are unique.
