Call girl

Written by

From the original script of António Pedro Vasconcelos and Joao R. Santos was one of the most watched films in Portugal.

When Antonio Pedro Vasconcelos began to outline the script of "call girl" only one name came to his mind for the role, Soraia Chaves. The actress here embodies one of the best female characters of Portuguese cinema. Was created to be wear to perfection, even better than a tailor. Soraia Chaves has a body of sin literally which has not too explored as in many Portuguese features. The nudity in some scenes exudes great erotic charge, which is greatly due to the excellent work of the actress and her inherent sensuality. The script is surgical, stripped of false modesty, that shows a society in decay, so naked and without false flourish and there are even memorable passages that I avoid mentioning, that the viewer will soon find out. Another aspect that I would focus on and that is rarely mentioned is the wardrobe in this film in particular, Soraia Chaves makes gala of the creations and choices of one of the best designers of our country, Filipe Faísca, the "enfant terrible" of national fashion, which again does not disappoint expectations with sumptuous garments that still give more credibility to this call girl. For those who have not had the pleasure of seeing this movie, I leave a small glimpse of this history of sex and money. Maria is the centerpiece in a game of seduction that involves the mayor of Vilanovas, played by Nicolau Breyner, into a dangerous web of corruption. Another highlight of this film are its secondary actors, of which I highlight again (I know, I never have enough!) the infallible Ivo Canelas in the role of the honest law enforcement and Joaquim de Almeida, who embodies the wolf in the skin of a real estate developer. Indulge on this "call girl" as did thousands of Portuguese who went to the movies, I suspect, to see the sculptural body of Soraia Chaves. Finally, another pearl, a cinematic curiosity, the main theme of the soundtrack is written by one of the sacred monsters of Portuguese music, Paulo Gonzo. Good movie!
