As part of the European Day of Languages ​​in Óbidos, the #EUandME initiative, set up by the European Commission to bring young people closer to the European Union, and share the opportunities they have as European citizens, will also present 5 short films, created especially for this project by five renowned European directors from Croatia, Poland, Germany, Greece and Finland. Also it will be presented the new european contest for young movie makers.

In addition, an exhibition entitled "Word of Honor", which revisits Croatian and Polish exhibitions, and the presence of the Portuguese Language in the World will be available.

Young movie makers competition

The European Commission has opened a competition for young people aged between 18 and 35, with or without film experience, to qualify for € 7,500 and make their own short film with the support of a renowned European director.
For this contest, which ends on October 31st, 2018, all participants will have to choose one of the 5 themes (Mobility, Sustainability, Rights, Digital and Skills & Business) and through them, tell their idea of ​​a story #EUandME through a video of 60 seconds, filmed with the own smartphone and accompanied by a synopsis with a maximum of 500 words.
