This second edition of the Islands.doc "is assumed as an exhibition of documentary film that provokes questions and our universe. More than clarify, it wants to be a platform that encourages curiosity "as stated by the organization" ubanistasdigitais. This year's festival is the premiere national and internationally stage again award-winning documentaries covering topics such as technology, creativity, design, music, trends, irreverence and science
Each day opens with a section titled "local time", which will show films of various directors of Madeira. For this edition were invited filmmakers: Eduardo Costa, Filipe Ferraz, the pairs Pedro Sousa & Gonçalo Rodrigues and Nuno Gomes &Ricardo Sousa.
The event also features several parallel initiatives, where the public will find a suitable place to create synergies around the films, such activities being with a documentary film workshop with Nino Leitner, filmmaker, active participant of indie community and promoter of new technologies and trends within the current cinematic landscape. Another of the highlights of this festival is a night of pure improvisation in which the image is the thread of a sound trip. Without any trial, the talented musicians Nuno Filipe and Maggiore propose to follow the guidelines of Filipe Ferraz. Last Year Island. Docs edition zero, organized by Henrique Teixeira, honored filmmaker, photographer and painter William Klein, one of the most influential and controversial artists of the twentieth century. The festival also debuted in Madeira the documentary "Complex-parallel universe" of young Portuguese filmmakers, Mario and Pedro Patrocinio, the most seen long feature in our country, which had the background the social and cultural microcosm of the German complex, one of the largest slums in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
