How that is a band can stand on an island?
MP: Cannot. We do not. We have several groups on the island, but none left here, except for then self’s, as a musician, but not as a band. We have a psychological threshold and this is reflected in the people, all that is local is not up to what you do out there. And if you think that way, there is no evolution, there is no chance. None of us have the capital to buy good instruments and a place to rehearse. We all work during the day and rehearse at night. There are people who leave work and go to rest, we do not. Obviously, not every day, but we have a very complicated life, to make the kind of music we make and the level of earnings and the projection is zero. Or very little.
Then you look for projection over the internet?
MP: No, we put on the internet are the dates of the concerts. We don’t have videos, we only have audio.
This is the first time will have a projection at the national level with this festival?
MP: Yes, yes. In a big stage, yes. It is the largest of all, even in terms of organization; we’ll see that kind of projection that will give us. There is no guarantee of anything.
So what it meant to win?
MP: We had more people attend concerts and were the best so far.
Then how do you see the music scene, it is very hard to succeed?
MP: Yes it is very difficult to enter. People only get to keep a band with a lot of passion.
SB: In the beginning it is very difficult to have recognition, at least here. Only with persistence and passion, because there has to be in the arts, because otherwise there are no projects, period.
MP: We are stubborn. We are here because we want to make our music, whether like it or not.
The dream is to record a CD?
MP: No, what we really wanted to play off the island. In Portugal and abroad to see if people like our music. The projection is very good, people say they like it. It's good. It has gone well so far, I would like to see what comes next, we do not stop here. The CD is secondary.
SB: It is difficult to assess the work we do. We have the feedback from the public here, which is pretty good for now, but we would like to know what's going on out there and what they think of us.
MP: That's what keeps us with will and persistence, is playing live. It is seeing the reactions of people, experience and the stage lights, smoke grass.
SB: Delays (laughs).
MP: That's what we like. We spent hours at the test site, abdicating our families to be rehearsing in a small room with 40 degrees, is an endurance test. Not even talk of the monetary issue, it rarely exists. We played for free. We are stubborn or are passionate about music or a combination of these two facets.
