The portugues IMF

Written by

It is a low cost musical event that will take place between 16th, 17th and 18th of September in Braga.

The Independent Music Festival of 2012 is a great counterpoint to the musical events that occur throughout the summer, coupled with a very Portuguese sense of humor! The initials say it all, as have the same words of the International Monetary Fund. It is an irreverent idea that aims to enhance the participation of a younger audience, with less purchasing power and has no access to major urban centers. The location is strategic, the Sá de Miranda school, located in the city center, is close to bus stops, parking areas and lodges. Another of its strong points, in addition to the ticket price per day, two euros, is the concentration of various musical styles and a large multidisciplinary sounds allowing a wide range of choices, which does not imply as the organization said, "a lack of quality, quite the contrary."Thus said, the IMF'12 will have bands and musicians from Lisbon like "B Facade" and "Noiserv", the Portuguese "one man band", from Braga will have the "Smix Smox Smux," form OPorto "The Bison" and "Jump." In addition to the national bands, the festival features international names like the Spanish "The Coras," or at solo, the Canadian "Kathryn Calder" and Luxembourg "Sun Glitters." One of the goals of the IMF is also disseminating independent bands that have no connection to record labels, in all 42 bands will perform throughout the space and will be spread across two stages constructed on the premises. The festival will also have two "after-parties" and a craft fair, this project is being inserted in preparation for Braga, the European youth capital of 2012.
