It's one of the bet in Portuguese fiction by the public channel.
I have followed with great interest a series of Portuguese TV films who occupy the nights of Thursdays. I must admit that casually stumbled into them, so to speak, these small cinematic notes (blessed zapping!). What I especially appreciate in this series of fiction films is the great diversity of themes and even the narrative style from comedy to drama, which addresses the various scenes of daily life of the Portuguese. It's fiction with a touch of reality, who try to show very current topics and some even controversial in our society without the mask, as indeed I could enjoy it, in the episode titled "Princess." I liked the focus on domestic production in all fields, the only thing I regret is that they replace these TV films without any notice by other programs and unfortunately this is one of the great weaknesses of public service television.
It is a Portuguese comedy issued during the week, on SIC channel.
It is a comedy series that follows the daily lives always "complex" of a Portuguese family. In the good lusa way shows in a mild and unpretentious forms the adventures of various members of the clan Mata. It's a television format that always achieves great success with the public, especially when includes a squad of established names of the national art scene like João Pedro Gomes, Rita Blanco, Maria João Abreu, Vitor Espadinha, among others, that attract even more viewers to this Portuguese comedy. I love the program, although there are episodes not so much, they lack "salt". One of the things that pleases me most is the fun way they show one of the most emblematic idiosyncrasies of being Portuguese, fending after causing more damage rather than solutions, nobody takes it personally, what matters is that with some good will all ends well. According to an international study this same characteristic as a great national asset, because the Portuguese is considerate one of the most creative people in the world, imagine! Well after all we are not the worst at all, the same cannot be said of the Mata family, well a bit, and after all they can't be fixed. So, see this series to forget the woes of the day and smile because it's good for the soul.
Another program produced by RTP Madeira.
Public Walk confirms a fact, that Madera seems always partying. It is a magazine that gives an account of the social events swarming a bit all over the island. The host, Licínia Macedo fulfills its role in a professional way; in fact the whole program meets expectations. It is dynamic, colorful, the interviews are appropriate and even the design of the generic proves once again that there is a positive trend in the conception of programs of RTP Madeira. I do not know if I'm going as far as saying that it is a public service, but at least informs in a relaxed and fun way about the various festivities that arise throughout the year, which proves once again that it is possible to produce quality programs on a regional TV, something that I never get tire of writing, especially now that it runs the risk of disappearing all this commitment and professionalism, due to the alleged austerity measures. Again I emphasize (another thing I never get tire of writing) a way to go around this issue of the extinction of the regional channels, is the issue of the best programs in open sign, both here and on the mainland, integrated into the programming of channel 1 or 2, why? Because the Portuguese deserve to better understand the realities of the islands and this is a good way to do it, taking advantage of all this human capital and the tourism potential that all of this can trigger.
It is a travel program in Brazil hosted by James Salazar.
I must say that there are two aspects of this program that I really like: the first and that most amuses me I must confess, is to watch the Brazilians difficulties to understand the simple questions posed by the host in Portuguese from Portugal, it is visible a certain uneasiness in some faces as the result of the misunderstanding of language and lacks even them just saying "OOI" that likely was cut off by the production I bet! Other still better disguises their perplexity and speak what they know of in a natural way, without really answering the question. It is ok! It's fun and refreshing. Another of the "curiosities", the most disconcerting one and that I even interestingly appreciate in this journey through the lands of Vera Cruz is the wardrobe of James Salazar that it is in stark contrast with the lush surrounding landscape. It even looks likes that the boy fell there by mistake. In most episodes, I would say that he is properly full dressed for a rock concert and not to present the outlines of a paradisiacal beach, even in winter. Strangely the contrast works. Do not ask me how. And yet, I remembered the third reason, there is no two without a three, what I really enjoy disproportionately in this "unknown address" are the texts written for the voice off, they are of great stylistic beauty. We can even close your eyes and be transported by his sweet and juicy words (which I believe to be written by James) and "travel" by these stops so familiar, but at the same so far away from us. It's almost a waste of metaphors and synonyms when the images speak for themselves. He should write a book that I am sure I would love to read, but before that I continue to watch James Salazar on television.
It's one of financial contain measures of the current government for public television.
More than once in this heading I defended the need of a public television service and the announcement of Antonio Borges about the extinction of RTP2 left me in shock, because, behind there is a merely economical reason . The argument of the low audiences proves once again that the politicians who govern us are mere fools. The second channel was geared to a very specific type of audience that doesn't watch the first channel, its television content promote the arts, films, religious and cultural diversity, which means it provides true public service. If what we paid of rate is not enough to keep the two channels, this is only due to poor management throughout the years. What is demonstrated with this measure is that to be culture is power and as such is a problem for the ones that rule the people, is a very dangerous weapon because it is difficult to control; it is based on the premises of freedom of expression. Maybe I'll have to correct my statement earlier, the politicians are not as fools as I thought, but I'm not stupid also. The measures announced not only destroy jobs and send to unemployment hundreds of excellent professionals, but also eliminate some critical sense that is the hallmark of the second channel and as such I can only have one proposal, the struggle. At the end of this text is a link that leads you to a public petition in support of RTP2.

It's a pilgrim idea of the public television with dubious results.
After the agonizing historical election of the seven wonders of Portugal, plus the unspeakable seven wonders of food and to top this whole media circus around nothing, now viewers have to endure another set of seven "wonders" of Portuguese... beaches. All I can say, enough gentlemen! No one can withstand so much "diversity." I am not against the promotion of our country, let me be clear. Quite the contrary I always argue that we should convey a more contemporary image of Portugal, but these constants polls are ridiculous. The summer programming includes a series of television formats, including live shows in various parts of the country, which covers food, landscapes, traditions and crafts, as is the case of "full summer" and other programs of the gender in different channels and this is more than sufficient in terms of marketing. These seven wonders, have nothing wonderful about it, it uses precious human and technical resources that do not bring anything new and in the background all there is advertising, is a mere business deal with the sole purpose of getting people to spend money on the so-called value added calls. Advertising in exchange for 60 cents per minute seems little, but I guarantee that it is not! My advice? Spare us, please!
It is a Portuguese fiction show about lawyers which is issued by the one public channel.
I would like to say that the series reflects the universe of the legal system and laws of our country, but I cannot, it would be a great fallacy. Freedom 21 is pure fiction and only that aspect it saddens me. Nothing picture in this series correspond to reality, I wish that the Portuguese courts were so efficient and that the cases were decided so quickly and brilliant. All do it is a pleasure to see those episodes in contrast with the overwhelming reality in the worst possible way. That's why I appreciate so much of the series for its imaginative dimension about these legal issues. The one thing you can take from this "freedom 21" (an allusion to the avenue of Lisbon where the firm is situated Vasconcelos and Brito associated) is the remaining plot, the personality conflicts, the personal problems crossing the professional sphere and small weaknesses of people who live in this very competitive parallel universe. I like the script and the work of the actors; I only regret that the reality is much harder and more confusing than this fiction pic.
It is a political debate program, broadcast on RTPN.
It is a balanced political debate, the various voices, i.e., several commentators on behalf of the most voted parties in the elections, with a seat in the assembly of the republic. The content is aimed to aim for a plurality of ideas about the highlights of the media agenda. This program appeals to me for several reasons, first because the personalities who debate the most controversial topics of the reality of the country, are the youngest members of the parties. It is kind of breath of fresh air since, over the years have always seen more of the same and that is very tiring. Then we have a private channel that persists in not following the example, to be impartial. Still leaves me puzzled that Professor Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, keep a television space in prime-time, to express his opinions that are always dubiously unbiased, even when he claims the contrary. The second reason is the professionalism of the journalist Sandra Sousa. She helps to keep the debate of ideas, encourages confrontation and leaves room for dissenting arguments, without showing any preferences. It is salutary to see this kind of professional contributions on television. Another of the gains of the program is the fact that it is live and allows public participation, through the forum. All these aspects contribute to create a dynamic, plural and free TV content, in a national television programming increasingly popular and without any quality.
It is one of the most watched television contest at the national level.
It is a phenomenon of audiences who remains at the top for decades. It's true. It was even the subject of study and is used as a model for its other European counterparts. A success that is much due to its host, Fernando Mendes and the actual content of the program, a contest where people just have to guess the approximate price of appliances. The accessibility plus the friendly personality of the presenter make this contest one of the most watched television shows. People mostly go to meet Fernando Mendes, feel that he is one of them, who cares, who knows how to laugh at himself and speaks openly of his gastronomic weakness and only those aspects make this program very appealing. The funniest thing is that competitors submit themselves to authentic pilgrimages just to enter in this competition, hence the phenomenon of audiences. The audience is mostly of old age, because they understand the dynamics of this simplistic contest and that itself is also is a very appealing factor, then the games are great fun, is a very dynamic show, not to forget that the host does everything so that people go home with a prize, one more point in favor of Fernando Mendes. For all these reasons there this TV show is a success and that is why I highlight it.
It is a program presented by Catarina Furtado on RTP national channel.
It is a tribute to the most outstanding personalities and other anonymous which play a very important social and cultural part in today's society. It is engaged in a program that won a television space, but not the audience. It is rather a form of thanks to someone special for their role in the lives of many and I believe that this type of format only works in another timetable. "Repaid with love" is now on air on Saturdays, at 10 o'clock in the evening, and that is an unusual choice to say the least. I understand that they want to stand out from the competition but, it turns out that these types of shows presented by Conceição Lino and Fatima Lopes do not happen by chance in the weekly afternoons. Are issued for a particular audience for this type of TV formats and potentially they will want to see Catarina Furtado smiling and showing during day time these very special Portuguese. After all what are they afraid of? Public television should once and for all understand that also need to have competitive programs for audience, instead of feeding the media with millionaire's contracts with sympathetic figures and do not dare to say that numbers don't count!
